Great star has fallen down.
Only spanking flashs were left.
Church bells ring in sorrow.

George Jackson Churchward, who passed away on the 29th of July, 2000 after a losing battle with cancer, was one of the most outstanding Artists of the spanking-themed art genre.
He specialized in pencil drawings of the "english school girl" subject. While the majority of his oeuvre are black and white drawings, he also did some colorized works using crayons. Other artists, such as Frank Steiner, did colorizations of George Jackson Churchward's artwork as well. Some of these revisions are also presented on this website next to George Jackson Churchward's originals.
Unfortunately we know very little about the Artist. He signed his drawings with "GJC", but the name George Jackson Churchward was a pseudonym. The initials of his real name were M. P.
George Jackson Churchward grew up in England but lived in the Caribbean as an adult. He was in his early 50's when he died. His pseudonym seems to be a historic name: George Jackson Churchward (1857-1933) was a Chief Mechanical Engineer and locomotive designer at the British Great Western Railway. Perhaps our Artist had a professional or hobby interest in the railway.
This website, which was created exactly three years after GJC's passing away, is not only an in memoriam notice but also an attempt to preserve this Artist's work, which he freely shared with others on the Internet, in the form of a permanent online exhibition.
